Hello readers, I'm MrFrisbeeAnalyst and I write TheFrisbeeAnalyst blog. My goal with this blog is to share my knowledge and love for Ultimate Frisbee to the world. When it comes to Ultimate, the official name for Ultimate Frisbee, I have been around this sport for a number of years. 2018 was the first year I began to play this sport, and ever since I have not stopped improving and learning this game. Currently, I am now in my fourth year at my university playing Ultimate Frisbee at the club level. As Ultimate is a fairly new sport in relation to other sports offered at the collegiate level, many teams are currently in the club level as well, with a few exceptions in division three schools. Given this, my hope is that I can be even a little bit of a helping hand when it comes to spreading awareness about this sport. Going a little bit further into my frisbee experiences, I have gone from a player on my team to a Capitan my previous season. Being a Capitan for my team helped me realize how much I enjoy spreading knowledge about this sport, as well as seeing my teammates grow and learn. If I could, I would teach anyone who asked me to teach them how to play Ultimate. It puts a smile on my face when I am able to personally help someone improve their skills towards this game, and I can watch them grow more attached to the sport day by day. How to choose a disc when playing Ultimate Frisbee

Today I am going to talk about something deeply important to the sport of Ultimate, and that is the disc that you use to play or practice with. Many people will casually call it a “frisbee,” but in Ultimate that word is usually used sparingly. This is partly because “Frisbee” is actually trademarked, which is one reason the sport is officially called just “Ultimate.” But no matter what you call it, the disc you use really does matter in Ultimate, and knowing what to look for when choosing one can make a big difference. The first thing you want to pay attention to is weight. In Ultimate, the official standard weight is 175 grams. Anything lighter than that may feel flimsy and unpredictable, while anything heavier can make it much harder to practice your throws and catches.
