A Tech Youtuber Helping Spread the Word of Ultimate

Marques Brownlee, also known as MBKHD, is a very popular and trusted tech youtuber. Currently, MBKHD has over 20 million followers on Youtube, and he's built a strong reputation for product analysis with clean and professional visuals. What many people don't even realize about Marques Brownlee is that he is also extremely dedicated to playing Ultimate while he is not busy creating tech content for his viewers. Through his platform, MBKHD has helped bring ultimate frisbee into the mainstream. 

Marques has played competitive ultimate for years and is currently a player on the New York Empire, a professional team through the Ultimate Frisbee Organization (UFA). Additionally, Marques has also played for team USA's mixed team at the ultimate world games in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he competed on the mixed team, and brought home a gold medal alongside his team USA teammates. This year, he brought home another gold medal, competing in the 2025 world games on team USA once again. 

MBKHD's commitment to the sport of ultimate helps promote ultimate to audiences who might have never seen a game before.  Every time he mentions ultimate frisbee on his channel, social media, or even just mentions the sport, millions of tech fans are able to catch a glimpse of what the sport might have to bring to the table. 

Through his dedication, visibility, and influence, Marques Brownlee isn't just changing how people view technology, he's helping change how they see ultimate frisbee. He's helped ultimate not be seen as a backyard pickup activity, but as a highly competitive professional sport with a deep culture.

Many people will casually call it a “frisbee,” but in Ultimate that word is usually used sparingly.
